If you don’t get why my dad and I are mice, I’m referring to another father-son relationship.
This may be a bit of an inside joke, so let me elaborate. As you know, I live in Toledo, Ohio. In Ohio, there is no deposit on cans or bottles. However, in Michigan, there is a ten-cent deposit. When my family was vacationing up in Michigan recently, my dad made sure that we saved all our cans, especially the ones we brought up from Ohio, so we could recycle them and get the deposit. Think of it as clipping coupons. On past vacations in Michigan, I have gotten yelled at for crushing cans and ruining the UPC that the recycling machine requires.
Oh, and yes, we never got the deposit on that bottle. My dad finally pitched it into a recycling bin.
